URINALYSIS

The primary role of the kidneys is to filter waste out of the blood, help regulate the amount of water in the body, and conserve proteins, electrolytes and other compounds that the body can reuse. Waste substances that are not needed are eliminated in the urine, traveling from the kidneys through ureters to the bladder and subsequently through the urethra and out of the body.

Urinalysis tests are used to check overall health, diagnose disorders such as urinary tract infections, kidney disease and diabetes, and to monitor medical conditions. A complete uranalysis test typically includes visual, chemical and microscopic examination of the urine.

Beckman Coulter’s selection of urine chemistry and microscopy instrumentation platforms significantly reduce the urinalysis laboratory's need for manual microscopic review and sample handling, thereby diminishing subjectivity and increasing test efficiency.

iRICELL Series Urinalysis Workcell

Integrated urinalysis workcells deliver standardized and accurate results

The iRICELL series combines urine chemistry and microscopy in a fully automated, walk-away workcell that is easy to use and maintain. With its proprietary Digital Flow Morphology technology that uses Auto-particle Recognition (APR) software to deliver standardized and accurate results, the iRICELL series facilitates optimization and advanced urinalysis and body fluid testing.

With auto-classification of 12 particle types with 27 sub-categories, the iRICELL Series Urinalysis Workcell reduces manual reviews and the need for repeat testing. The instrument’s urine culture indicator checklist assists in highlighting samples that may require urine culture while on-screen verification of results improves total turnaround time (TAT).

iQ200 Series Urinalysis Microscopy Instrument

Move your urine microscopy forward with digital images

The iQ200 series produces shortened total turnaround time (TAT) with standardized results. By leveraging proprietary Digital Flow Morphology technology using Auto-particle Recognition (APR) software, urine particles are isolated, identified and characterized on the screen to virtually eliminate the need for manual microscopy. The iQ200 series instruments are available as either stand-alone instruments or they can be connected to an iChemVELOCITY urine chemistry system to form an automated iRICELL workcell.
